On January 31, 2009 the entire internet arena was full of confusions and amusements when surfers around the globe received error warning when they browsed the internet. This was a problem with Google and all webpages showed this critical warning when they tried to access sites through Google. This severe problem lasted from 4 to 5 hours and all the internet activities where stalled during this period of time.
The more interesting fact was Google’s advisory pages suggested the usual steps to troubleshoot the issue or it contained the reasons for problems. But it was not acceptable just because these advisory notes were meant only for infected and malicious pages. Everyone was perplexed to think the whole of internet pages, doesn’t matter whichever the site is infected and malicious ones. There was no reason to think for common man Google had some problems which are technical and this was the hot news.
In their blog, Google made it very simple to justify as a simple human error. They continued, stating that they have a program which tracks the updates regarding malicious sites and this program is not an automated one. Instead, this program is maintained by humans and that was simply a human error.

It is true that one hosts a website in order to profit from it in whatever capacity. As such, it comes a shocking blow to know that as of 2008, officials in Thailand have blocked viewership to over 2300 websites to locals. The major reason cited for such mass blockage is security and defamation of the government.
This becomes important keeping in mind that the political scenario in Thailand is not too stable and anything that’s cited against the king isn’t taken too well. Sites banned also include pornographic sites. The strange part of this analysis is the 90% of these sites are hosted overseas which means that international website owners stand to suffer. What may be viewed as acceptable and informational content elsewhere in the word is a taboo in Thailand?
Banned sites include those containing cartoons, articles, blogs and even YouTube videos. Thailand isn’t the first country to be practicing such large scale banning and this is popularly carried out in China too. In fact China tops the list in terms of stringency but news of banned sites elsewhere will influence website owners to review their content so as to not face the ire of threatened governments across the globe.

Latest releases from the web master world isn’t that pleasing for the Google giant as even, its exclusive feature of Google earth which presents the online view of cities and places around the globe has been questioned when it matters to the freedom and rights of citizenships. Hence, Google is now answerable to a multitude of questions from the Japanese experts as they insist on making a strong argument that Google earth will bring serious consequences to the safe and free living of people around the globe.
Majority of lawyers and university professors from Japan had clubbed together to raise their protest against the IT giant Google and as far as their thoughts and policies are concerned, Google is publicly violating the very fundamental right of an individual and the citizens have to make their each and every routine step thinking that they all are continuously monitored by an IT force of the world, which basically is a denial of free living and survival.
The protest against this is expected to hit the high note in coming days, as the Japanese lawyers and experts declare that time has passed by to stop broadcasting the street wise and town wise online coverage made by Google earth.
